Amazon Luna announced Batman: Caped Crusader - Chronicles, a cooperative party game built around the animated series. Watch the announcement trailer, then the details about who is involved and where it launches.
What the trailer shows
The trailer sets up a noir-drenched Gotham City where you and up to four players work a caseload of minigames across 11 episodes. Every episode leans on a mix of investigating, interrogating, and deducing your way through a new crime, with a rotating cast of DC villains standing between you and the truth: Scarecrow, Babyface, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, Dollmaker, Lynx, Music Meister, and The Joker.
What the trailer does not tell you
The show's cast plays the game too. Hamish Linklater and Michelle C. Bonilla reprise their roles as Batman and Detective Montoya from the animated series. And Matthew Needham, newly cast as The Joker for the show's second season, voices the character in the game as well, so the same performance carries across both.
It launches free, inside Luna's party lineup. Chronicles is joining GameNight, Amazon Luna's growing collection of group games, and it is free for Prime members on Luna. Your phone is the controller: no extra hardware, no downloads, and no separate purchase.
It is timed to the show, not just the platform. The game arrives July 31, the same day Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 premieres on Prime Video. With Luna now built into the Prime Video Games tab on Fire TV, finishing an episode and jumping straight into the case is meant to be a single, unbroken motion.
The launch list of countries is long. Chronicles goes live across the US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Portugal, Belgium, and Luxembourg, all on day one.
Season 1's numbers explain why this exists. Batman: Caped Crusader Season 1 climbed as high as number one on Prime Video's global Top 10 list. That kind of pull is exactly why Amazon Luna and Prime Video built a way to let fans inhabit Gotham City instead of only watching it, turning a hit show into a group activity for the week the next season drops.
When and where you can play
Batman: Caped Crusader - Chronicles is exclusive to Amazon Luna, free for Prime members, and launches July 31, 2026 alongside Season 2 of the animated series. If you already have Fire TV and a Prime membership, there is nothing extra to buy and nothing to install before the case files open.
