Pokémon GO's Summer Marathon: Arctic Embers is live, and the headline for shiny hunters is simple: Shiny Snom is finally in the game.
The event runs Tuesday, August 4, 10:00 a.m. to Monday, August 10, 8:00 p.m. local time. Fire and Ice share the wild spotlight, egg distances drop as you climb the GO Pass, and a free Timed Research hands out a marathon-visor Pikachu.
Shiny Snom: where it actually appears
Official word from the Pokémon GO blog:
For the first time in Pokémon GO, you'll be able to encounter Shiny Snom, if you're lucky! You may encounter Snom when you complete GO Pass tasks. You may also hatch Snom from Eggs.
That means no wild Snom farm is listed for this event. Treat GO Pass encounters and 5 km Eggs as your two lanes. If you want Shiny Frosmoth later, keep the usual evolution checklist in mind from Snom's original GO debut: 400 Snom Candy, 10 buddy hearts, and evolve at night.
