Springfield is coming back to Fortnite, but not as another month-long mini-season. Epic’s teaser points at Reload: the smaller, respawn-friendly Battle Royale lane. Put two dates on your phone.
July 29, 2026: full reveal of the Simpsons Reload package.
July 30, 2026: expected live date with the v41.30 update. Downtime usually starts around 4 a.m. PT / 7 a.m. ET. You play after maintenance ends, not at the minute the clock flips.
Why Reload is the right shelf
Reload runs fewer players on tighter maps with respawns for a big stretch of the match. That is why Epic can yank vaulted maps and weapons back without rebuilding the whole Chapter island. Springfield from the November 2025 mini-season was already a self-contained town. It fits Reload better than it fits a giant Chapter BR map.
If you only played the 2025 Simpsons drop for Homer skins and never touched Reload, this is the mode to learn before Wednesday. Queue Reload now, learn the pace, then drop into Springfield when it rotates in.
What is still foggy until July 29
Epic has not locked the public list of returning weapons, quests, Shop items, or whether new rewards sit on top of the old map. Dataminer chatter mentions extra loot and even a Sprite, but that is not confirmation. Wait for the July 29 reveal before you plan a grind checklist.
