Fan Fest Berlin showed the first new job for Final Fantasy XIV: Evercold. It is called Bastion, and it is a main tank. Watch the trailer, then the stuff Square does not put in the voiceover.
What the trailer shows
Bastion fights with two greatshields called skyltborg. Up close they block. They flip and shoot like guns at range. The look mixes fantasy armor with machine parts. If you main tanks, this is the fantasy Square is selling first.
What the trailer does not tell you
Unlock is Limsa at 90. You do not start Bastion at 1. You pick it up at level 90 in Limsa Lominsa when Evercold launches. Plan your alt around that.
Evolved Mode only. Square is splitting combat styles for Evercold. Bastion only gets the newer streamlined kit. There is no classic alternate moveset for this job. If you hate the new action style, this is not your tank.
This is job one of two. Evercold gets two new jobs. Bastion is the tank. The second job stays hidden until Tokyo Fan Fest later this year. Do not expect the DPS reveal in this Berlin trailer.
When you can play it
Evercold launches in January 2027. Bastion comes with that expansion, not as an early patch surprise.
