Kusan: City of Wolves launches today: PS5 trailer, $14.99

If you want a top-down shooter that sells style as a survival skill, Kusan: City of Wolves is out today. PlayStation's launch trailer is the cleanest way to see the pitch before you buy: neon port city, ex-soldier Jin, and a girl named Haru who is carrying something the whole city wants.

Developer CIRCLEfromDOT and publisher PQube timed the full release for July 30, 2026 across major platforms. The PlayStation Store listing for the PS5 version is live at $14.99, with a free demo still available.

What the launch trailer actually sells

PlayStation's official line is blunt:

Fight for the future of the City. Kusan: City of Wolves is available now on PlayStation 5.

The clip shows the fantasy loop: stylish top-down combat, signature tools (the War Hand and Quantum Knife), gang fights, and boss set pieces. It also frames the story hook as loyalty, betrayal, and a former commander chasing revenge while Jin protects Haru.

That is marketing language. The durable facts sit under it.

PQube's launch release also points at 54 hand-crafted stages, S-rank challenges, Techtrix-style loadout building, and a soundtrack from hip-hop artist Loptimist. Treat mission count and scoring as the checklist for completionists, not as a promise that every stage plays the same.

What the trailer does not settle

The launch spot does not tell you how punishing S-rank scoring feels after two hours, how long the campaign runs if you ignore optional challenges, or whether Switch performance matches the PS5 trailer footage. Those answers only come from playing. The free demo on PS5 (and the Steam demo listing) is the honest pre-buy step if the trailer style hooked you but the difficulty fantasy worries you.

Where to play next

Start on PlayStation Store if you are on PS5, or the Steam page for PC. Grab the demo first if you want a combat sample before the $14.99 buy. Follow the Kusan: City of Wolves hub for later patch and platform notes.
