Middle-earth collectors marking calendars: Magic: The Gathering | The Hobbit hits tabletop August 14, 2026, and one of the newest public faces of the set is Glóin the Mighty. Two variants of the dwarf warrior card are circulating now, with Glóin mid-fight against a goblin during the company's defense of Bilbo and the company.

Glóin is not a deep cut. In Tolkien's timeline he is one of Thorin's company, later the father of Gimli from The Lord of the Rings. The card art leans into that warrior role rather than a quiet hearth portrait.

What the set is selling
This is a Universes Beyond Tolkien return after The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth (2023). Official copy promises the Shire-to-Lonely-Mountain arc: trolls, riddles in the dark, and Smaug the Magnificent as a gold headliner, plus Middle-earth classic artist cards and Dwarven-language treatments in Collector Boosters.
