Imagine finishing a shift that already involves ratings, surge pricing, and strangers narrating their divorce in your back seat. Then you go home, boot the PS5, and do it again for leisure. That is the emotional pitch of Rideshare "Stimulator", Saber Interactive's new announce for later in 2026, and it is either the funniest sim-category flex of the year or proof the genre has run out of jobs that do not already feel like jobs.
The trailer: clock in, smile, do not look back
PlayStation's announce spot sells an immersive driving game where you own a rideshare business, dodge traffic, follow road rules, race the dropoff clock, chase ratings, upgrade cars, and try not to get hypnotized by whatever is happening behind you. Passengers are the content engine: "captivating, hilarious, or just plain weird." Wishlist language is PS5-first in the official upload, with Steam and Xbox Series also on the slate.

Steam's short blurb is somehow even more honest about the fantasy: master the streets, keep the car in shape, deliver every ride "no matter how strange it gets." That is not escapism so much as overtime with better lighting.
Saber Chief Business Officer Steve Allison, in the studio's announcement materials, frames it as cozy-meets-sim:
Rideshare "Stimulator" is a fun combination of relaxing and driving simulation gameplay. Saber has had a lot of success in the sim space and we are excited to release something new and different in the category.
He goes further: players get "exaggerated experiences a real rideshare driver might, or might not, see in real life," rooted in unpredictability and the random connections people make every day. Fair. Also: a lot of people already get that for free between airport runs and one-star reviews.

Why this lands as out of touch (and why it will sell anyway)
Job sims thrived when the fantasy was a vocation you will never have: farm owner, trucker across Alaska, airport CEO. Rideshare is already the background noise of modern cities. Turning tip culture and passenger theater into a living-room loop is peak 2026 product logic: take an economic pressure cooker, sand off the health insurance anxiety, add a punchline in the back seat, call it relaxing.
That does not make the game bad. It makes the marketing brave. If the passenger vignettes are sharp and the traffic systems are sticky, this becomes appointment comedy with a steering wheel. If they are stock NPC chatter, it is PowerWash Simulator without the dopamine of a clean wall.
