The Xbox release date trailer for SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed finally trades the soft "this July" window for a hard ship day. If you bounced off the original as a chaotic couch-party classic, or you have been waiting for a modern lobby that can actually hold a full friend group, this is the clip that matters.
The trailer that locks the date
Official Xbox release date trailer:
Xbox's description puts the calendar in plain language:
SpeedRunners 2 is coming to XBOX Series X|S on September 3rd, 2026, and will be available on XBOX Game Pass from day one.
That matches what Steam and the official SpeedRunners site now list: September 3, 2026.

What the clip does not tell you
April's tinyBuild / Fair Play Labs press still pointed at a July 2026 multi-platform launch and day-one Game Pass. The September 3 lock is the update you actually schedule around. Platforms in that same primary plan: Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version called out for later in the year. A free Steam demo is already live if you want a feel for the movement before launch week.

On the Xbox store page, the party math is concrete: 2–4 local, 2–8 online, cross-platform multiplayer, and Xbox Play Anywhere. Steam's pitch leans on the same core loop fans remember: stay on the shared screen, use pick-ups and a grappling hook, and survive the shrinking ring of fire that eats whoever falls behind.
Developer Fair Play Labs (Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl) is building it. Publisher tinyBuild is shipping it. That pairing is the practical takeaway if you care who is responsible for netcode, maps, and post-launch support.
How to play it on day one
| Path | What to do |
|---|---|
| Game Pass (PC + console) | Day-one listing per Xbox's trailer copy. Add it to your queue now. |
| Steam | Wishlist app 3183760, or jump into the free demo first. |
| Consoles | Wishlist on Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch storefronts ahead of September 3. |
If you are planning a launch-night lobby, treat Game Pass as the friction killer: more friends can show up without a same-day purchase. If you are the sweaty one, use the demo to relearn boosters, wall jumps, and when to burn the golden hook instead of saving it for a panic swing.
