Why Disney is closing the book instead of soft-canceling
Disney has framed The Artful Dodger as its most-viewed Australian original title on Disney+. That is the business reason the show gets a planned ending instead of a shrug.
Kylie Watson-Wheeler, Disney Australia and New Zealand SVP and managing director, tied the pickup to craft:
The renewal is a testament to the quality of this show, and everyone involved in making it.
Curio's Jo Porter pointed at the tone audiences actually showed up for:
We love that audiences have embraced the show's unique blend of adventure, humour and romance, and we are planning for this season to be even more ambitious, surprising and unpredictable.
