NFL and NBA names bought a pro American football team in Monterrey. YouTube is putting the first season on the free internet tonight.
We Are Osos, an eight-episode docuseries, premieres Wednesday, August 5 at 6:00 p.m. PT / 9:00 p.m. ET exclusively on the Osos Monterrey Football YouTube channel (@OsosLFA). Episodes 1 and 2 drop together. After that, new episodes land every other Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. PT.
The setup
Per the YouTube Blog, the ownership group includes Ryan Kalil, Blake Griffin, Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, Luke Kuechly, Sam Darnold, and Greg Olsen. The cameras follow Osos Monterrey's first season under that ownership in Mexico's Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA).
Production: Supper Club (Chef's Table, The Bear) and Mortal Media. The pitch is not "celebrities buy a toy." It is Monterrey players, coaches, and fans grinding through a real LFA season while famous U.S. athletes learn what that grind costs.
