Guns of Eschaton gameplay trailer: soulslike FPS systems on PS5

PS5 players tracking soulslike shooters need the new PlayStation gameplay trailer for Guns of Eschaton, not another mood reel. The clip shows how deliberate the gunplay is supposed to feel once you are actually in a fight.

What the gameplay trailer shows

PlayStation's drop frames western hardware, specialized ammo choices, and the parry or dodge timing the studio has been selling since the announce. This is not a spray-and-pray FPS pitch. The store copy keeps repeating the same rule: every bullet matters, every gun has a temper, and every monster has a weak point you are supposed to learn before you waste the cylinder.

What the clip does not tell you

Platforms are already on the board. Guns of Eschaton is listed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, with publisher 4Divinity and developer Eschatology Entertainment. There is still no release date.

The build fantasy is more than weapon skins. Official materials call out more than 20 period-leaning firearms, custom bullets treated like consumables in the cylinder, talismans and armor, and three sacramental paths for active and passive abilities. Solo and co-op are both supported, and the PS concept page notes online play for up to two players with PS Plus for the networked side.

There is also a hand-drawn Cherokee Codex framed as a combat tool: enemy behavior, weak points, anatomy, rituals, and hidden rules. Lore is not flavor text here. It is how you are supposed to stop dying on the same encounter.

Study your enemies, count your bullets, forge your own style with gunpowder and prayers. Solo or in co-op—go West, gunslinger, go West and die with the country!

That line is the studio's own Steam and store pitch, not a journalist rewrite. Art direction comes from the late Viktor Antonov (Half-Life 2, Dishonored, and other credits named on the PlayStation concept page). Studio messaging has framed the project as the final world shaped with his vision.

Wishlist checklist

If you want the game, the useful moves are simple:

No day-one date, no demo window in this trailer, and no confirmed price. Treat the PlayStation gameplay drop as a systems teaser, then wait for a calendar before you plan a weekend around it.
