If you are waiting on Bond for Nintendo Switch 2, you finally have a calendar number to watch, not just "later this summer." Amazon Japan is listing a physical Switch 2 Specialist Edition of IO Interactive's 007 First Light for September 16, 2026. That is a retailer date, not an IO Interactive press confirmation. Treat it as a strong signal that lines up with the studio's summer window, not as a sealed day-one promise.
Status board: confirmed vs retailer-listed
| Item | Status |
|---|---|
| PS5 / Xbox Series X\ | S / PC launch |
| First-week sales | Confirmed by IO Interactive: more than 2.7 million copies |
| Switch 2 version coming | Confirmed by IO Interactive for Summer 2026 |
| Exact Switch 2 day | Retailer-listed: Sept. 16, 2026 on Amazon Japan |
| Switch 2 gameplay footage | Not shown publicly yet |
| Performance targets (fps / modes) | Not confirmed |
IO Interactive's own Year One roadmap post keeps the Nintendo line soft on purpose:
007 First Light will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 this Summer 2026, bringing the full Bond experience to Nintendo players.
Amazon Japan's product page for the Switch 2 Specialist Edition is blunter: the item "will be released on September 16, 2026." Mid-September still fits a late-summer ship window. Until IO Interactive or Nintendo posts the date, keep one eye on preorder cancel policies.

Why Switch 2 slipped past the May launch
The other SKUs shipped at the end of May. Switch 2 did not. IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak has said the build was running and that the hold was about quality, not a soft cancel, calling for late summer rather than a vague forever delay. Senior licensing producer Theuns Smit has separately described optimization as the focus: progress is "really good," and the studio wants the version players deserve before it goes wide.
That framing matters more than the Amazon day. A September 16 retail stamp only helps if the port lands stable. IO Interactive has not published Switch 2 capture yet, so expect the first proper look closer to that window, likely in August if the retailer date holds.

What you can play today
007 First Light is already out on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic). IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios said it cleared 2.7 million copies in week one. Post-launch TacSim missions and a Year One content plan are already rolling on those platforms, so Switch 2 buyers are joining a live service calendar, not a day-one vacuum.

What is not confirmed
Amazon Japan can change or scrub a date overnight. Regional day-and-date for the West is not spelled out on that JP listing. Digital eShop timing, file size, and whether handheld vs docked modes share one target framerate are still blank. If you only need the actionable line: wishlist or preorder carefully around Sept. 16, 2026, and wait for IO Interactive to say the same sentence without a retailer middleman.
