Shark Week 2026: dates, Discovery schedule, where to stream

If you only need one answer tonight: Shark Week 2026 started Sunday, July 26 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Discovery Channel and runs through Saturday, August 1.

Warner Bros. Discovery's press room lists 20 all-new premieres. Most nights stack three hours from 8 to 11 p.m. ET/PT. August 1 trims to two new hours ending at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

Opening night (July 26)

  • 8 p.m. K-Pop Shark Heroes with Ken Jeong and REI AMI

  • 9 p.m. Air Jaws: Red, White and Breach

  • 10 p.m. Invasion of the Mega Sharks

That K-pop opener is not a meme insert. Discovery is using Jeong and REI AMI to reframe shark perception after encounters off the Korean Peninsula, then slamming straight into breach footage and a Nova Scotia mega-white hunt.

Where to watch without cable jargon

Live linear still sits on Discovery Channel. Cord-cutters need a live TV app that carries Discovery (examples that typically do: Philo, DIRECTV Stream, Sling Blue, YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV). Check your package before paying for a trial you cannot use.

On-demand copies also land across Discovery+ and HBO Max after premiere windows. Discovery has not promised a fixed minute-by-minute delay for every title, so if you need same-night live, stick to a live Discovery feed.

Follow the Shark Week hub if we add mid-week schedule changes.
