Official status tracking shows the incident started late Sunday night and was still marked Impacted well into Monday afternoon, past the 12-hour mark.

As of Monday afternoon (July 27, 2026), Microsoft's Xbox service status feed still lists the overall network as Impacted. The last official refresh we checked sat around 2:34 p.m. ET. Several core scenarios remain in a high-impact state:
Sign-in under Account & profile
Viewing games in Store & subscriptions
Downloaded games and Backward compatibility under Games & gaming
Launching apps under Apps & mobile
That means account login, store browsing, digital game launches, older titles running through backward compatibility, and some apps can all fail at once. Multiplayer and cloud gaming were not marked Impacted in the same snapshot, but if you cannot sign in, most online play is effectively blocked anyway.
You may not be able to sign-in to your Xbox profile, may be disconnected while signed in, or have other related problems. Features that require sign-in like most games, apps and social activity won't be available.

If a disc title still needs online auth, a broken sign-in path can block it even when the disc scenario looks clear.
